How to Field strip and reassemble the 1911-A1 TRP pistol
Check out this weapon video on how to field strip and reassemble the 1911-A1 TRP pistol. The Springfield Armory 1911-A1 TRP handgun is a full-size autoloader available in .45 ACP only, but the TRP is not just a standard copy of the basic Model 1911A1; it stands as a full-blown custom handgun.
The Springfield Armory TRP is designed around the same specifications as the FBI contract pistols and offers nearly the same performance and features. The TRP has combat night sights with both front and rear sights dovetailed into the slide.
Disassembling the Springfield Armory TRP firearm is as easy as any other gun, starting with clearing the weapon. Release the magazine and check the barrel for ammunition. Next, take apart the guide rod with an allen wrench and rotate the front bushing. Then, take out the follower, the spring, the slide assembly, takedown lever, barrel and guide rod to complete the field strip. Now, put it back together.
